Rebecca Binder, passed away just days before her 58th birthday. In 2020, she was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer (TNBC), a rare form of breast cancer caused by a genetic mutation.
Courageous, strong, and independent, my mom didn't want people to know she had cancer. Instead, she carried on with her treatments and continued doing the things she loved most - sailing, skiing, travelling. Despite her numerous rounds of chemotherapy and surgeries, she always kept her beautiful smile and sense of humor.
Given that TNBC accounts for only 10-15% of all breast cancers, there isn’t much research on treatments. Thanks to the doctors at Memorial Sloan Kettering hospital in NYC, my mom was able to spend three years with her family.
I hope that fundraisers like Cycle for Survival will enable the next family to have even more time with their loved one.
Thank you for your donation,
Leah, Chuck, & Benj

50% of People With Cancer Have a Rare Cancer
About half of all people with cancer have a rare form of the disease. Rare cancers include many types you’ve likely heard of, such as leukemia and lymphoma, thyroid, ovarian, brain, and pancreatic cancers, as well as all pediatric cancers.
100% of Your Donation Supports Research.
It is often challenging to secure funding for rare cancer research, which is why support from Cycle for Survival is so crucial. Every dollar you give will go directly to innovative research and clinical trials at MSK. Discoveries made at MSK revolutionize how cancer is diagnosed and treated, benefiting people worldwide.
Thank you for your generosity. Together, we will beat rare cancers.
