In Memory of Daniel W. Offit
In loving memory of Daniel W. Offit, the Offit Family has requested donations be made to Memorial Sloan Kettering's NORTH Program in support of brain cancer research.
The Neuro-Oncology Research Translation in Humans (NORTH) program, aims to speed the application of molecular discoveries in brain cancer research to clinical interventions. The programmatic goals include the development of an interdisciplinary infrastructure for clinical brain tumor research and support for pilot projects of immediate translational impact. The NORTH program activities are closely coordinated with MSKCC’s Brain Tumor Center and several hospitals and research-based Departments. The goal of the NORTH program is to build a state-of-the art clinical research environment that enables patient-centric discovery (“bench-atbedsite”), facilitates integrated clinical and preclinical evaluation of new agents, and encourages laboratory researchers within MSK community to apply emerging concepts and technologies toward adults and children with primary and metastatic brain tumors. An important priority for NORTH is the integration of genomic and clinical data to develop prognostic, predictive, and early-response biomarkers for brain tumor patients.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Daniel W. Offit's memory to support Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center's NORTH Program. Checks, made payable to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, should be mailed to:
