Sun·burst /snbrst/ (noun) : a sudden brief appearance of the full sun from behind clouds.

My name is Julia Kane, I am a dancer, choreographer, and cancer survivor in NYC. Almost four years after my diagnosis of Hodgkin's Lymphoma, I decided it was time to connect with other artists in her industry who have faced a cancer diagnois themselves. (sun)BURST was created to celebrate the brightness that can come from the darkest times, something that all cancer survivors, thrivers, and fighters have experienced in their own way. In partnership with Broadway Dance Center, I created this page to raise funds for Memorial Sloan Kettering, and I hope you’ll consider joining the cause and attending our event, or solely making a donation.

As dancers, we know how important movement is in healing, which is why the funds we raise will go to Drea's Dream, a movement and dance therapy program for MSK Kids. Too many of us know people who have faced a cancer diagnosis, and sometimes it's hard to know how we can make a difference.
