The Kristen Ann Carr Fund

Created in memory of 21-year-old Kristen Ann Carr, who succumbed to liposarcoma in 1993, the KACF has donated more than $4 million to Memorial Sloan Kettering to support many important programs focused on sarcoma and young people. The KACF has endowed two research fellowships (one in surgery and one in pediatrics) for the study, treatment, care, and prevention of sarcoma. It also funds an annual holiday party for young cancer patients and their families.

Previous gifts include a $1.4 million commitment for equipment in the Sarcoma Biomolecular Spectroscopy Laboratory, now the Kristen Ann Carr Sarcoma Laboratory, and funding for a support group for sarcoma patients.
