JOIN THE BATTLE. GIVE TO BEAT RARE CANCERS.
Over the years, Sam and I have raised money for various cancer foundations - with Sam even spending 5 days/week, working full time at the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. This time, we find ourselves raising money in SAM's honor. Crazy place to be.
Back in March, Sam was diagnosed with a CIC Rearranged Small Round Blue Cell Tumor. There are only 500 cases diagnosed worldwide each year, with only 5,000 known cases total at this point. It is rare. It is aggressive. And it isn't fair. Oddly enough, I did work for a foundation in 2003 - the Kristen Ann Carr Fund - that directly contributed to research of the pathologist who diagnosed Sam. So we have direct proof that efforts like this have gotten us from "unknown" to "great;" Doctors know more now about her disease than they did even 5 years ago. But it's not enough - So Sam and I will not stop until her, and other patients' chances are 100%.
We are now raising money for rare cancer research and I am hoping you will make a donation. Your gift will directly help people who have few, if any, treatment options. Through Cycle for Survival, progress is accelerating. The money raised has helped to arm scientists with the resources to explore pioneering ideas, discover new therapies, and collaborate to find the next breakthrough. Did you know that:
50% of People with Cancer Have a Rare Cancer
When combined, about half of all patients fighting cancer are fighting a rare cancer. These are cancers we know — such as leukemia, lymphoma, thyroid, ovarian, brain, pancreatic, and all pediatric cancers — yet research is largely underfunded.
100% Goes to Lifesaving Research Led by MSK
Every dollar you give will advance innovative studies and clinical trials led by Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK). Discoveries made by MSK revolutionize how cancer is diagnosed and treated, helping patients across the country and around the world.
6 Months for Fast Impact
Not only does every dollar go to research, your gift will be in the hands of doctors and researchers within six months of the events. As a donor, you will learn about the projects supported and the breakthroughs made.
I thank you for your support from the bottom of my heart. You have all helped us get through this.
Good vibes only!
