JOIN THE BATTLE. Beat Rare Cancers.
HONORING FATMA + OUR FAMILIES & FRIENDS
Team Fatma is a powerful group of inspiring individuals who participate in Cycle for Survival to honor our loved ones who have fought or are fighting cancer. Fatma Kamara and Kristen Leone started the team in 2014 when Fatma was being treated at Memorial Sloan Kettering for a rare and aggressive form of cancer called ovarian clear cell carcinoma.
Our first ride was a powerful experience. It was an energy boost for Fatma and strengthened her already incomparable will to live. Though she eagerly plotted our expansion for the following year, she sadly passed away before we returned. We ride to honor her legacy.
Cycle for Survival rides are filled with hope and positive energy. Every member of our team has been impacted by cancer and has joined our battle to honor themselves, their friends, their families by paying it forward and funding research for a cure.
THE FATMA FUND
Thanks to the hard work of our riders and generosity of our donors last year, we were able to establish a research fund at Memorial Sloan Kettering that is named in honor of Fatma. The Fatma Fund is led by her oncologist Dr Jason Konner and supports his pioneering research into improving treatments for ovarian clear call cancers.
