JOIN THE BATTLE. Beat Rare Cancers.
Welcome to Team Hsuper Hspinners' page!
We welcome back donors and supporters who encouraged us through our Cycle for Survival journey during our inaugural year last year, and we welcome new friends and family who are giving us the love, support, and motivation to ride this year!
Last year, just five months after my dear hsupermom, Ya-May Amy Hsu, passed away due to complications from Stage IIIC gastric cancer, seven of my closest and dearest friends joined me in a 4-hour long stationary spin/bike ride to honor my mom, their own loved ones, and loved ones around us who we've sadly lost to cancer, and celebrated those who are still with us today. This powerful, high-energy, celebratory, inspiring day gave us pause to remember those who are near-and-dear to us who have been affected by cancer - rare or not.
This year, we're going to mount our spin bike again and will continue to honor and remember our loved ones, and raise awareness and funds for rare cancers. Collectively - those of us on bikes, who are able to donate, who give us words of encouragement, who can share this page and help to spread the word and cause - we will continue to affect change in this space. I truly believe that with these medical advances thanks to the funds and awareness we are able to raise through Cycle for Survival for Memorial Sloan Kettering, we will be able to inch our way closer to more and more breakthroughs in cancer research and treatments.
As team captain of Team Hsuper Hspinners, we hope that you're able to join us in our fight and be part of our "Battle Cry" in any way that you can. While my heart continues to hurt every day as it feels the emptiness of what used to be filled with my mom's big presence, I will continue to strive to do what I can to hope that fewer and fewer people have to endure what so many of us have.
And with that, below is more information on Cycle for Surival and its movement to beat rare cancers.
Team Hsuper Hspinners
Rare cancer research is underfunded, but we can change that. While we can’t all be doctors or researchers, we can raise the money that makes their lifesaving work possible. Cycle for Survival supporters have funded over one hundred clinical trials and studies, leading to new discoveries that are helping patients today.
But there is still more work to be done.
100% of every dollar you give funds pioneering research led by Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center within six months of the events.
About 50% of all people diagnosed with cancer are battling a rare cancer. Too many people are touched by this disease, and yet many with rare cancers don’t have a proven, if any, treatment plan—that’s unacceptable.
Help us: Join our team or make a donation today. Your efforts will fight cancer and make a real impact.
Thank you in advance for your support! Together, we can bring new and better treatments to patients worldwide.
