JOIN THE BATTLE. Beat Rare Cancers.
Welcome to Riding with Style's page!
Cycle for Survival is a cause that’s important to us. We are riding on March 10th to beat rare cancers, and we need your help to meet our fundraising goal.
We ride to support the strong women in our lives who have been CHALLENGED by rare cancers. Guilit, Marita and Kathy are three of the strongest women we have been blessed to know.
Guilit Rudden, beautiful mother of three amazing children Nicole, David and Jamie and loving wife to Tom. Guilit's wisdom and love was felt by everyone who was fortunate enough to be in her life. Guilit was diagnosed with stomach cancer in 2013 and she truly lived every moment of every day for 3 years until her passing in 2016.
Marita Hickey, beloved wife, mother and grandmother. Marita was diagnosed with a common and easily treatable lung cancer, but was one of the “rare” few whose cancer unexpectedly spread to her central nervous system. Marita’s 78 years on this earth were filled with love, laughter and the joy of her family. She is watching over her loving husband of 57 years, her four beautiful daughters and her 9 incredible grandchildren.
Kathy Hickey Rudden is being treated for rare neuroendocrine tumors at Memorial Sloan Kettering and we are so fortunate to have her riding with us. Although Kathy has undergone 6 different procedures and is starting new treatment options, her optimism , grace, and bravery inspire us daily. Looking at Kathy -- who is a wonderful mother to three children, Madeline, Claire and Thomas-- you would never know she has cancer. Her disease may appear silent but we refuse to be!
All three woman truly embody this powerful quote shared by another strong woman.
‘We were scared but our fear was not as strong as our courage'- Malala Yousafzai
100% of every dollar you give will fund lifesaving rare cancer research led by Memorial Sloan Kettering.
Together, we can give doctors and researchers the resources they need to combat these diseases. Discoveries and better treatments will be possible through your generosity.
Thank you for your support!
