In Memory of Alison Zingaro
This page was created to honor Alison Zingaro and to provide an outlet for those who wish to make a monetary contribution in her memory. Alison recieved outstanding care from her team of doctors at Memorial Sloan Kettering. The particular type of cervical cancer that she had (small cell) is so rare that only 100 people in the United States are diagnosed with it each year and it accounts for less than 1% of all cervical cancers.
Despite the grim statistics, Alison was free of cancer when she died and was optimistic for her future. Her husband Mark and Alison's family are so grateful for the high level of care and compassion that Alison was given during her diagnosis and treatment.
Our hope is that those diagnosed with small cell cervical cancer will recieve the same level of care, and that despite the difficulties in researching such a rare type of cancer, the money rased will make progress towards better understanding this disease and other gynecological cancers.
