Running for Cancer Research

Name: Derk Rimstidt
Team: Miles for Manny
Event: TCS New York City Marathon
Date: November 3, 2019

Donate Team Page

Please help me run the NYC Marathon! I'll do the running part with my team--my brother-in-law Mike, his Uncle Richard, and our cousin Katelyn. We need your help with the harder part: raising money to support critical cancer research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK). I'm running in honor of my amazing sister-in-law Amanda, who's been battling breast cancer this year, and in memory of my stepson Zac, who we lost to pediatric cancer in 2016. I’m committed to making a difference in the lives of countless people touched by cancer!

By donating to my race, you will be giving doctors and researchers at MSK the funding they need to make groundbreaking discoveries and conduct lifesaving clinical trials. Every dollar raised is another important stride toward progress — and brings us one step closer to a world without cancer. Fred's Team was started to honor Fred Lebow, who co-founded the New York City Marathon and ran to fight back against his cancer diagnosis. MSK is rated A- by Charity Watch, with 97% of funds raised going to their cancer research programs.
