JOIN THE BATTLE. GIVE TO BEAT RARE CANCERS.

Team Dany Testa will ride all day on Saturday March 7th, from 10am - 7pm.

Cycle for Survival is an indoor cycling event, which raises money for Memorial Sloan Kettering to research treatment options specifically for rare cancers. While there have been huge strides in treatment options and prognosis for many types of cancers - there is a huge gap in funding of treatment options for rare cancers. Fifty percent of people with cancer have a rare cancer but a disproportionately small percentage of funding and research goes towards these cancers.

Team Dany Testa rides together as a new family who has been created out of loss, love and a shared experience.

In 2012 the Testa/Sloan families lost Jamie Bruce Testa. Jamie was husband to Valerie Sloan, father to Mady Testa and Lilly Testa and lost his battle at the age of 39.

In 2012 the Dany/Cohn families lost Lisa Dany. Lisa was wife to Sean Dany, mother of Ryan Dany and Sloane Dany and lost her battle at the age of 40.

Both Lisa and Jamie were diagnosed with a rare and deadly form of Bile Duct cancer called Cholangiocarcinoma. Treatment options were limited to drugs created for other cancers and still has no cure.

So far, Cycle for Survival has raised over $235 million dollars and 100% of the funds raised have gone directly to Memorial Sloan-Kettering for research on rare cancers, paving the way for new, more effective treatment options.

Team Dany Testa has raised $1,565,000 to date to research better treatment options and improve the quality of life for those diagnosed with Cholangiocarcinoma.

All of these funds are making a real impact. New cures, new treatments options, new surgical techniques, new research and new clinical trials have all come out of this amazing charity and event  (see the website below for research/developments funded by Cycle for Survival)

MSKCC’s Make-An-Impact Site highlights the exciting new research our team is directly funding. Through DNA sequencing of Cholangiocarcinoma tumors, researchers are better understanding the genetic mutations that cause this type of cancer and using this information to develop new treatment options (Team Dany Testa’s name denoted at the bottom).

We ride for all those affected by this horrible disease to give them hope – that they should know we are fighting for them. We fight for Jamie and Lisa and what they would want us to do now. They would not want anyone, any father, any mother, any daughter, any son, any sister, any brother, any family, any friend, any child to have to know the suffering and loss we have all experienced.

Please consider making a donation to Team Dany Testa to help honor Lisa and Jamie. They fought so hard and we should continue to fight for them!!!

We fight like hell!

We ride like hell!
