Kids Walk 2019
This year will be our 7th Kids Walk for Kids with Cancer. Since we began participating in the Kids Walk our team, Carter Crushes Cancer has raised over $80,000.00 thanks to the generous support from family, friends and colleagues.
We first heard about the Kids Walk while at MSK for our son Carter's treatment. At 5 months old Carter was diagnosed with a Wilms' Tumor. There are no words that can adequately describe the feeling and emotions you have when told your child has cancer. We knew that the best treatment would be needed for our baby. From the moment we arrived at MSK it was clear that we were in the right place for our son.
The care and dedication Carter and our entire family received and continue to receive at MSK has been the inspiration to participate in the Kids Walk year after year.
No parent should ever have to hear the words, "your child has cancer". However, if they do we want those words to be followed with the same words we heard, "but he's going to be okay!" When Carter was going through his treatment those were the words that we held on to while helping him fight and CRUSH cancer.
This is why donations are so important:
100% of every dollar donated to Kids Walk goes directly to the Department of Pediatrics at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center -- where more kids with cancer are treated than any other hospital in the United States.
4% of the National Cancer Institute's budget for research goes to pediatric cancers, which is why pediatric cancer research is extremely underfunded. This is where you come in: the money you give supports new and better treatment options for children around the world.
Together, we can make a difference. Thank YOU!
