Welcome to my Fred's Team page!
Name: Jaclyn Armijo
The brave men and women who are fighting cancer, have fought cancer or have lost their life to cancer are to be lauded. I'm honored to run the New York City marathon on November 4, 2018 as a way to raise money for Fred's Team and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
Who is Fred’s Team?
In 1995, Fred’s Team was named in honor of running legend and co-founder of the New York City Marathon - Fred Lebow, a man who dreamed of a world without cancer. In 1991, while he was being treated for brain cancer at Memorial Sloan Kettering in New York City, he jogged through hospital hallways, determined to find a way to raise money for a cure. That year, Fred encouraged runners competing in the New York City Marathon to raise money for each mile they ran, and designated MSK its first official charity.
The money you donate will support critical cancer research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. By donating to my race, you will help give doctors and researchers the funding they need to make groundbreaking discoveries and conduct lifesaving clinical trials.
"A lot of satisfaction comes with crossing the finish line — but the critical funds runners raise for cancer research makes a difference that goes far beyond the finish line." - Fred Lebow
