Welcome to Kevin "Moondog" Mooney's Page and "Fred's Team" for the 2017 NYC Marathon!

Name: Kevin Mooney
Event: TCS New York City Marathon
Date: November 5, 2017

On November 5th, I'm running the 2017 NYC Marathon with Fred's Team to support lifesaving cancer research at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK). I'm committed to training and raising as much money as I can!

This cause means a lot to me and many of my family, friends and work colleagues.  As described below, I am dedicating my race to several people who are currently fighting or have fought cancer, including my mother who passed away in September 1984 just prior to her 50th birthday.  Of the six people named below, three (noted with *) have received treatment from Sloan Kettering, including my mom.

Miles 1-5:      Jay Fahs, fellow Duke Navy ROTC shipmate, submariner and close friend

Miles 5-10:    Dave Perry, fellow Duke Navy ROTC shipmate, submariner and close friend

Miles 10-15:  Andy Hale*, fellow submariner, shipmate and close friend

Miles 15-20:  Tim Johnson, fellow NASSCO employee and close friend

Miles 20-25:  David Rathburn*, NASSCO partner and close friend

Miles 25-26.2:  my mother Angela Mooney* (1935-1984), taken by colon cancer

Please make a gift today! I am accepting donations from individuals and businesses.

With your donation, I will dedicate my race to you or a loved one as well. Just tell me the name of the person, and I will write his or her name on my shirt (and I'll send you a photo of the shirt!).

The button below takes you to my fundraising page, where you can make a 100% tax-deductible donation.
