Take Two! Running the Berlin Marathon!
Name: Jessica Kincer
Unfortunately, due to an injury, last year did not go as planned but I'm still determined to run a marathon and raise money to support cancer research!
FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO DON'T KNOW...
As an adult I found myself working for one of the top cancer hospitals in the world. Coming to work for a place like MSK changes you. The stories that come across my desk as part of my job can be heartbreaking but the thing that has always surprised and inspired me is the strength and perseverance of the patients and families going through this. Even those who have lost someone are still out there striving to fund the research to save someone else. They raise money, they raise awareness, and they still fight so that no one else's family will suffer. And they are not the only ones; the incredible team I am surrounded by at MSK is nothing short of extraordinary. They are there for these families to support them in any way they can. They answer calls at all hours, they are shoulders to cry on, they are advocates for their community of patients and families and donors of MSK and they will always fight right beside them.
So after being surrounded by all these brave, wonderful, generous fighters, I had to do something, and the biggest, craziest gesture I could think of was for this non-runner to sign up for a marathon to raise money for this community.
SO WHAT CAN YOU DO...
By donating to my race, you are directly donating to the doctors and researchers at MSK to fund their groundbreaking research and helping them conduct lifesaving clinical trials.
Every dollar raised brings us one step closer to a world without cancer.
