Welcome to Sarah Newnam's Page

Name: Sarah Newnam
Event: TCS New York City Marathon
Date: November 3, 2019

This year I’ve signed up to run the NYC marathon with MSK’s Fred’s Team in honor of my mom, who lost her battle with a rare cancer just over 10 years ago.

MSK’s Fred’s team is named after NYC Marathon co-founder Fred Lebow, who ran as a means to fight back against his own cancer diagnosis. Fred’s Team runners raise critical funds for cancer research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK). Donations give doctors and researchers at MSK the funding they need to make groundbreaking discoveries and conduct lifesaving clinical trials.

While I certainly won’t come in first, and hopefully not last, I do hope to cross the finish line and as Fred said, “a lot of satisfaction comes with crossing the finish line—but the critical funds runners raise for cancer research makes a difference that goes far beyond the finish line.”

I hope I can count on your support in my commitment to raise over $15,000 for critical cancer research at MSK and help all those who are working hard every single day to battle cancer. No donation is too small as every dollar raised is another important stride toward progress and brings us one step closer to a world without cancer.

$1 per mile = $26
$5 per mile = $130
$10 per mile = $260
$20 per mile = $520

Thank you,
