JOIN THE BATTLE. Beat Rare Cancers.

WELCOME TO OUR TEAM'S PAGE!

We are riding and raising money for Cycle for Survival, the movement to beat rare cancers, in honor of our badass, warrior friend Samantha Mann. Since early 2018, Sam has been fighting off a rare cancer, CIC Rearranged Small Round Blue Cell Sarcoma, with countless doctors visits, scans, and chemo treatments. She has an endless amount of positive energy and continues to spread her good vibes despite her battle with cancer. Her Other Sam's Club team pledges to help in her battle. Will you? Help us surpass our fundraising goal as we cycle to help fund MSK and beat rare cancers!

A NOTE FROM SAMANTHA MANN:

It's hard to write the words, but the truth is, I have a rare cancer. And I am having to deal with all that comes along with it--surgery, chemo, appointments, scans. You name it, I do it. And I try my best to do it with a smile on my face.
It is all possible through this magical place called Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, with the most brilliant doctors and nurses that I am lucky enough to have access to. And as much as I love them, I want to raise money so that we can fund more research for rare cancers like mine and make sure no one else has to go through what my family and I are dealing with right now. Because cancer sucks and life is awesome. Please consider donating! Good vibes only. <3

In all of the years that I was either fundraising myself for cancer research or working for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society help others raise money for cancer research, I never thought that the next time I would be seeking donations would be in honor of myself. But here I am. On March 8, 2018, a date and day that I will never forget, I was diagnosed at only 34 years old with an incredibly rare type of sarcoma--a CIC rearranged small round blue cell tumor. There are only 500 cases diagnosed worldwide each year, with only 5,000 known cases total at this point. It is rare. It is aggressive. And it isn't fair. I am a busy mom of two young kids--aint nobody got time for this!!!

But, I am lucky. I have an incredible team of doctors and nurses at Memorial Sloan Kettering that are taking the BEST care of me. I am supported by the most incredible husband, kids and family. And friends who are like family. And my prognosis is good. I will be finshing 9 months of intense chemotherapy at the end of December, which will be followed by a lifetime of scans to make sure I stay cancer free. It has been a year of chaos and uncertainty, but also a lesson in strength and resilience. And we need to do everything we can to make sure that if this were to ever come back, or if someone else is diagnosed, we have the tools to make sure they make it through, just like I am.

So, I'm raising money for rare cancer research and I am hoping you will make a donation. Your gift will directly help people who have few, if any, treatment options. Through Cycle for Survival, progress is accelerating. The money raised has helped to arm scientists with the resources to explore pioneering ideas, discover new therapies, and collaborate to find the next breakthrough.

Why this matters to us:

50% of People with Cancer Have a Rare Cancer
When combined, about half of all patients fighting cancer are fighting a rare cancer. These are cancers we know — such as leukemia, lymphoma, thyroid, ovarian, brain, pancreatic, and all pediatric cancers — yet research is largely underfunded.

100% Goes to Lifesaving Research Led by MSK
Every dollar you give will advance innovative studies and clinical trials led by Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK). Discoveries made by MSK revolutionize how cancer is diagnosed and treated, helping patients across the country and around the world.

6 Months for Fast Impact
Not only does every dollar go to research, your gift will be in the hands of doctors and researchers within six months of the events. As a donor, you will learn about the projects supported and the breakthroughs made.

Join our team or make a donation today. Your efforts will fight cancer and make a real impact for people who have few, if any, treatment options.

Thank you in advance for your support!
