Our Story

Jackson Colder was born in May 2010. As an infant and toddler, Jackson was a normal, energetic, fun-loving kid. After checking in with his pediatrician for what we all believed was a routine high fever on January 27, 2012, he and his family's life changed forever. Jackson was diagnosed with Stage IV neuroblastoma, an aggressive childhood cancer that effects approximately 650 children every year in the United States, more than 90% of them younger than six.

Over the next twenty-four months, Jackson endured five rounds of high-dose aggressive chemotherapy, several surgeries, numerous rounds of radiation, and many rounds of painful 3F8 antibody treatments at MSKCC. It was an extremely difficult and challenging journey for us all. We met many families along our journey of which far too many lost their children to this terrible disease.

As of April 2018, Jackson is in his sixth year of remission from neuroblastoma. We are truly blessed and grateful for each and every day!

We walk every year for Kids Walk for Kids with Cancer to celebrate Jackson's journey and to raise money to find a cure and to support research into more effective, less toxic treatments for other kids like Jackson.

100% of the proceeds from Kids Walk go to fund pediatric cancer research at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center where Jackson was treated.  We are truly grateful and can't say “Thank you” enough to the entire amazing and dedicated team of doctors, nurses, and support staff at MSKCC to whom we literally owe Jackson’s life.

We are look forward to the day when no other families have to battle this terrible disease!

We are making a difference!

Great strides in neuroblastoma research have been made since Jackson went through treatment with funding from sources like Kids Walk.  For example, the funding from Kids Walk has helped to develop more effective and less toxic and painful antibody treatment for children at MSKCC (Hu3F8) and an extremely promising vaccine treatment (bivalent vaccine plus beta-glucan).  None of these options were available to Jackson just seven years ago.  With your support, we hope to continue making a real difference for future children battling this disease.

We thank you in advance for your support and really appreciate your generosity!
