Welcome to Our Team Page
“They’re all good days, some are just better than others.”
These were Jim Kress’s words to live by—whether it was spending time with family, fishing with friends, or leading a crowd in protesting penalties at Steelers games.
And Jim’s diagnosis in November 2017 with stage 4 pancreatic cancer, at the age of 57, didn’t change any of that. Over the course of the next 8 months, up until the day we said goodbye, Jim continued to live each day to its fullest. Surrounded by family and lifted up by friends, Jim made sure that each day was a good one—even in the fight of his life.
Pancreatic cancer has a survival rate of 9%. The odds aren’t fair for anyone—let alone for a man like Jim Kress, who made life larger and better for everyone.
With one of the nation’s largest clinical and research practices, Memorial Sloan Kettering is pioneering new techniques to treat pancreatic cancer and enhance the quality of patients’ lives. It’s for this reason, and in Jim’s memory, that we are running the 2019 TCS NYC Marathon to support MSK’s pancreatic cancer research. We would forever be grateful for any contribution you can make.
Let’s make every day a good day for those that need it most.
