JOIN THE BATTLE. Beat Rare Cancers.

We are friends who are connected by The Boeing Huntington Beach Fitness Center.  In fact, we consider ourselves family…our gym family.  On September 18, 2018, one of our team members contacted us to share the following:

“I have bad news.   Last week I was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer.  However, the good news is that I can be the poster child for this year’s cycle for survival campaign. “

This news shook the team to the core.  None of us could have imagined this condition for our team mate.  Kathy is a marathon runner, a friend, a wife and mother.  Kathy has a zest for life that is priceless.

Kathy is a fighter and believes in the power of prayer and the advances that have been made with the treatment of pancreatic cancer.   Kathy described herself as being blessed to have discovered the cancer (through back pain) and a devoted spouse who insisted on going to the doctor.  As a team, we now have a greater sense of urgency.  The battle is personal again.  We are riding this year in support of finding a cure for Kathy Hess, our friend and member of our gym family.  You can follow Kathy’s story here.

We ride for people who are fighting to stay in remission from cancer.   Our fund raising effort helps fund new drug trials and treatments.  We also ride for those who lost their lives to fighting cancer.  This list includes our dear friend and former team mate Jan Youngs who lost her battle to cancer in June 2017.

We invite you to join us in raising money TO FIND A CURE TODAY!
